Hydraulic Gear Pumps

Hydraulic gear pumps are utilized in various industrial, residential, and commercial applications that utilise on hydraulic and pump systems. Hydraulic gear pumps work by using interlocking cogs and gears that rotate similarly to a motor, enabling them to transfer fluids. These rotating components establish a liquid seal within the pump enclosure through suction created at the pump inlet. In external gear pumps, a motor typically drives one of the gears, which then drives the second gear. On the other hand, internal gear pumps also consist of dual gears, but in this design, a larger gear with teeth on the inside rotates a smaller gear within.

Why Use a Hydraulic Gear Pump?

Hydraulic gear pumps have a straightforward and efficient design, commonly incorporating a self-priming mechanism. While some hydraulic gear pumps can perform dry lifts, it is advisable not to do so for extended periods. These pumps rely on fluids to function, which makes them well-suited for applications requiring high flow rates and pressures. They come in internal or external styles, and many can operate in both directions, enhancing their versatility.
