Their compact designs allow them to be mounted directly into cylinders and unauthorised adjustment of these valves is impossible once it has been integrated into a system.

During the normal operating conditions of a system, these valves are kept in the open position. The closing element is forced, and kept, in the open position by a spring force, but only so long as the force of the spring itself is greater than that force acting on the closing element.
